A specialist in chronographs and technical watches, Breitling has also shared in all the great hours of the conquest of the skies. For the first time, a magnificent book tells the story of this great epic, so intimately linked to that of modern times.

Based on new historical research, and illustrated with over 450 images, including many previously unpublished documents, Breitling The Book is a must-have reference not only for lovers of the brand, but also for all enthusiasts of watches, chronographs and aeronautics.

Breitling The Book describes 125 years of passion for the chronograph, recalling the key role played by Breitling in the technical development of this type of watch - from the first pocket models created by Léon Breitling as early as 1884 to today's "instruments for professionals", via the invention of the first independent pusher in 1915, the separation of the "start/stop" and "reset" functions in 1923, the invention of the second independent pusher in 1934 and the first automatic chronograph in 1969.

The book also highlights the brand's close links with the world of aeronautics, going back to the days of the pioneers of the air. In words and images, we discover all the famous on-board chronographs that enabled Breitling to enter aircraft cockpits as early as the 1930s, then to accompany the boom in air transport by becoming the "official supplier to world aviation".

Not forgetting the numerous wrist instruments designed for aviators, including the famous Navitimer from 1952, which has become a cult model for pilots the world over.

At a time when Breitling has taken a decisive step by launching its own mechanical chronograph movement, this book also portrays the new Calibre B01, the crowning achievement of a long quest for excellence, performance and independence.

Past, present and future come together in the same breath, under the banner of "l'esprit chronographe, l'esprit Breitling".

Conceived in a lively, well-documented tone, with original, uncluttered graphics, Breitling The Book is available in French only in our sales section. Elegant, massive book with silver lines on cornes of the pages, this is an indispensable book for your library, as Willy Breitling said, the Premier is an “unmistakable stamp of impeccable taste”.
