Rolex 50's Vintage Automatic Cal A260 Submariner watches 6205,6204, turn O graph 6202 Collectible

History: The Rolex cal  A260 was used in the 6202, 6204 and 6205 Oyster series in the 1950s. It is a fairly obscure mechanism compared to some of its mass-produced contemporaries.

It is an automatic (self-winding) mechanism. Both the A260 and A296 were developed at the same time. Neither one is superior to the other.

They just have different form-factors, with the A260 being designed for slimmer cases than the A296. Both are COSC certified as chronometers.

ITEM DESCRIPTION :

Up for sale is a Vintage Rolex Submariner cal.A260 Movement 6204 6205. 

Movement is running, however, service history is unknown, missing oil, but no rusty or locked somewhere inside, need to be full serviced.

There where the Ref 6200 was having the A296 movement, the 6204 and 6205 and Turn O Graph ref 6202 had the A260 movement. 

The A260 is not an improved movement, but rather just one that is appropriate for the case size – the 6204 and 6205 small crown is having a much slimmer case than the big crown.
