Rare & genuine screwed waterproof Rolex antique MK 1 pushers for Rolex Daytona watches #6263, 6265, 6240.
Estimated years : ~60's.
Condition : Good with some marks of use.
HISTORY :
The ROLEX Cosmograph DAYTONA model underwent a period of transition between 1966 and 1968.
Indeed, at that time, there are only DAYTONA with smooth pushers (6239 and 6241).
However, in 1966, the ROLEX company had already planned to introduce an evolution with the screwed tappets; These enabling the watch to be waterproofed to 30 meters.
Then ROLEX created a reference "prototype" from 1966 to 1968 to market the first models with screwed pushers DAYTONA: The Rolex Cosmograph DAYTONA 6240.
The DAYTONA 6240 features special pushers called MARK 0 and MARK I that are less striated than the rear versions.
The first models of 6240 also have the distinction of having a dial 6239 and 6241, the following models will include the words "OYSTER" to confirm the tightness of the watch.
These prototypes are equipped with a Valjoux 722 movement (the movement that was equipped at the time with DAYTONA with smooth pushers).
The DAYTONA 6240 model was therefore manufactured only for 2 years from 1966 to 1968 and in small quantities.
Finition brushed with lines on sides, screwed version.
CONDITION :
Rolex screwed first generation pusher, preowned condition, some marks of use very lights, oxydation visibles.
Even due to its age, no noticeables marks on side....Really they are nices. The nickel-finished brass screw down pushers feature the 'Millerighe' decoration.
Keep in mind brass alloy is more fragile than stainless steel...this is why Rolex stopped to use it at this period.
Works perfectly, sold in their package
Here is a table from differents marks in our pictures, as you can see Mk 0 is very hard to identify and collectors themselves discover this.
